Mission & Philosophy

R3 strives for 100% waste diversion and believes recycling, in its various forms, is essential to the long-term health of our natural environment and that our environment and its resources can no longer be taken for granted. We are committed to the beneficial reuse of construction and demolition material, as well as vegetative material. Whether that involves converting these commodities into renewable energy, or making new products out of debris that would have otherwise been land-filled, we are committed to finding alternative uses for all the material we process.

Background & Expertise

Justin Industries was founded in 1990 by Justin D’Adamo. The Company began as a heavy equipment company providing a full range of site preparation services to residential and commercial builders and developers. Overs the years Justin Industries has evolved into an environmental services company providing a range of services including site reclamation and soil remediation, land clearing and grinding, and site preparation services including underground development. The Company has also been grinding Florida green waste and hardwoods for more than 30 years and has developed in-depth expertise in processing high volumes of the softwood and palm frond material commonplace in Florida. Green waste material processed by R3 has been used for land application and soil enrichment, composting, residential mulch use, horse pillow shavings and bedding, and waste to energy co-generation.

Today Justin Industries operates as R3 Recycling and has expanded to provide turn-key construction and demolition recycling services and vegetative waste processing services to municipalities. R3 is experienced in designing custom solutions and processes that achieve desired results while taking into consideration potentially unique site conditions, unique material attributes, as well as specialized customer needs.

R3 Recycling currently manages and operates the Hillsborough County Falkenburg Yard Waste Processing facility in Tampa where it processes approximately 50,000 tons of green waste annually. R3 also currently processes all green waste for the Pasco County Solid Waste System at its West Pasco facility in Spring Hill, Florida.

R3 Recycling recently completed a 10 year contract for Martin County where the Company operated the construction and demolition recycling facility at Martin County’s Palm City Transfer Station Facility. R3 managed the facility and processed approximately 65,000 tons of construction and demolition debris annually. R3 achieved a record 75% waste diversion rate for all construction and demolition material received.

R3 also managed, processed and beneficially reused, approximately 60,000 tons of green waste annually for Martin County under a four year contract, and R3 managed, processed and beneficially reused vegetative debris under FEMA contracts following Hurricane Matthew (2016) and Hurricane Irma (2017).

R3 Recycling is a woman-owned business.
